THE POSITION
Andreas Coucounis & Co LLC (“Coucounis”) is currently looking for trainee lawyers to join its legal team in Larnaca and carry out their obligatory 1-year legal traineeship.
Legal Traineeship at Coucounis provides the opportunity to individuals to get a well-rounded insight into the workings of the law in Cyprus, the workings of a law firm, and procedures before courts, tribunals and other public bodies in Cyrpus. Those that have done their legal traineeship with us have gone to become successful lawyers having had a thorough and solid legal training at our law firm.
THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Each trainee lawyer co-operates with a partner in our law firm who is responsible for the lawyer’s progress and to whom the lawyer repots. Each trainee lawyer will:
- Carry out his/her training on a full-time basis;
- Draft pleadings in many areas of law;
- Appear along with qualified lawyers in a variety of Courts in Cyprus and be given the opportunity to handle cases before judges;
- Draft legal texts, agreements, corporate documents;
- Use i-justice as well as the Companies Registrar electronic system;
- Undertake legal research;
- Prepare cases for hearings;
- Appear before public authorities and bodies.
THE QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should satisfy the following:
- Be holders of a Law Degree;
- Be proficient in Greek and English;
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office tools;
- Have the ability to work in a team.
